I literally can’t believe it’s summer already. As pumped as I am that this week is here, because it means we’ve officially moved into our new house, I would be okay with 2016 slowing the heck down from here on out. Dave and I have so much we want to do this summer. And since you know I’m all about making lists, I wanted to share our summer bucket list with you!
Take Advantage of Our New Yard
If you aren’t a regular reader of the blog, you might not know that my husband and I just purchased our first home, and we officially moved in on Tuesday! One of my absolute favorite things about the house is the gorgeous, huge fenced in backyard with an awesome deck. First of all, I’m super excited for our dog because I know she’s going to L-O-V-E this yard after being stuck in an apartment with no off-leash yard for three years. And I can’t wait to spend my entire summer sitting out on our new patio furniture with a drink in my hand while my awesome husband cooks up something yummy on the grill.
Every year my extended family goes on a big camping trip together for 6 days. It’s always been one of my absolute favorite parts of the year and as a kid, my cousins and I would spend literally the entire year counting down to it. I love that years later, my family is still at it each year. This year, along with the big family camping trip, I would love for Dave, Leia and I to take a few camping trips of our own and check out a few new areas of Wisconsin.
Hit the Beach
Okay, I have a confession. Dave and I have been living in Madison for three years and have never gone to a beach here. And I don’t know if you’re familiar with Madison, but it’s basically an isthmus between two big lakes. So there’s honestly no excuse. This year I want Dave and myself to finally explore the lakes in Madison and find an awesome beach. And maybe even rent a boat to hang out on for a day!
Grow a Garden
I remember when I was a kid and my parents had a garden. I dreaded being asked to weed the garden. And now, 20 years later, I’m seriously pumped about the chance to grow my own garden! Dave and I have talked so much about what veggies we want to grow in our garden. I guarantee I’ll be sharing all about this one on my blog and social media, so you can’t miss it!
Take All the Photos
If there is one area of blogging that I really haven’t embraced, it’s photography. Sure, I would love to be able to take all the pretty pictures. And I’ve got the fancy camera, so I really have no excuse. Unfortunately, I really haven’t taken the time to learn the ins and outs and better my photography. Since we’re (hopefully) going to be super active this summer and spending all kinds of time outside, I feel like this is the perfect time to really take all the photos! So stay tuned for that!
