Dreaming and planning for our future is so important. We should be always striving to grow and improve, but we should also strive to appreciate what we have. It’s important that while we’re dreaming for what we want to do, we remember what we have done and what we’ve accomplished. I’ve done some awesome, fun things in my life and I want to continue to remind myself of that.
Today I’m sharing a Reverse Bucket List of some of the awesome things I’ve done in my life that still excited or proud about. Whether they be personal accomplishments, professional accomplishments, or something that more-so happened to me, these are all treasured memories!
I met the love of my life and got married.
What a cool thing to have done! After about 3.5 years together, Dave and I tied the knot this spring. It truly was the best day of my life, just as the last several years together have been amazing. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in our marriage.
I graduated college (in four years!)
In a time where 5 years of college is almost a given, I was thrilled to be able to finish it in 4. Whew! I worked my butt off in college, so I was definitely proud to be able to walk that stage.
I’ve seen some of the beautiful places the world has to offer.
I traveled around Europe in Belgium, Germany, England, and Scotland. And what an awesome trip it was! As a high school graduation gift, my mom sent me to Europe for about two weeks with my older brother. I had never left the country or traveled anywhere on my own, so this was definitely a big deal for me. As an introvert, it was something that really forced me to come out of my shell and embrace new experiences.
I also spent a few days In Brazil when I was in college to see my brother and sister-in-law getting married. They are travelers by nature, so of course they had their wedding somewhere awesome! It was an incredibly beautiful place to see and one that I might never have made it to if not for this wedding!
Finally, Dave and I spent 10 days in Ireland earlier this year for our honeymoon! Seriously amazing. I’ve shared some of the pictures from the trip on the blog already, and I promise there are more posts to come!
I got my first big-girl job.
After years of working customer service jobs from department stores to gas stations to restaurants, it was indescribably satisfying to find a job in my field. First of all, it was awesome to be getting a real paycheck, not cash tips. Second, it was a great feeling to know that I hadn’t wasted 4 years in college and tons of money for this degree, only to never use it. It’s been almost two years since I got my first job post-college!
I started a blog.
And I’ve kept up with it for 10 months! I started the blog with the goal of posting five days per week. I knew that was a huge undertaking, but I forced myself to stick with it. I’ve missed a few days here and there, but I firmly believe that commitment I made in the beginning has allowed my blog to grow and has made me an infinitely better writer. I’ve learned a crazy amount in the last 10 months about things I had zero clue about! (hello SEO, design, etc).
I’m starting my own business!
I consider my blog to be a faction of my business, but I’m going to be expanding it with my online design shop!
