Over the past year, Pinterest has become an essential tool in growing my blog traffic. One year ago, in September 2015, my blog had just over 17,000 page views in a month. Within just a few short months, by January 2016, my blog was getting over 100,000 page views per month and has continued to get over 100k page views every month in 2016. And I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Pinterest. My Pinterest traffic makes up well over half of my overall blog traffic and has resulted in returning visitors and newsletter subscribers.
As much as I love Pinterest, it got to the point where I was just spending way too much time there. I didn’t have time to devote the hours per week to Pinterest that seemed necessary at the time. And that’s where BoardBooster comes in. BoardBooster has automated all of the tasks I used to spend hours each week doing manually, from scheduling new pins to repinning my own pins.
Before we dive in too far, since I know this question will come up, let’s talk investment. Believe it or not, BoardBooster can cost you as little as $5 per month for 500 pins! If you’re unsure after reading this post (which is totally fine), you can give their free trial a shot to see if BoardBooster is right for you!
I wanted to discuss campaigns first because this is my favorite BoardBooster tool to use for growing my Pinterest traffic! There are two types of campaigns you can create, either random or scheduled. The scheduled campaign allows to repin from one secret board to multiple boards based on a schedule you create.
The random campaign is what I prefer to use. This still allows you to repin from a specific board to as many group boards as you’d like. You simply designate how many pins you want going to each group board each day, and BoardBooster chooses when to repin them. I use it to repin from my blog Pinterest board to my favorite group boards
This tool has become essential for my blogging process! I used to spend over an hour each week scheduling repins from my blog’s board to group boards, not to mention any other Pinterest scheduling I was doing! It’s saved me a significant amount of time each week.
If you don’t have the time to hop on Pinterest multiple times per day to pin other people’s content, then this tool will be a life-saver for you. The scheduler allows you to choose any board you would like to schedule pins for, and then BoardBooster creates a matching secret board. You simply pin to the secret board, and BoardBooster will repin those onto your live board throughout the day based on how many pins per day you specify.
The scheduler is an excellent time-saver. It’s beneficial to your Pinterest traffic to be constantly pinning, but who really has time for that? This will allow you to give the illusion that you’re constantly pinning, without actually having to!
Once you have quite a few pins on each of your boards, you can begin incorporating the looping feature. Instead of adding new content like the scheduler, the looping works with content you already have, similar to the campaigns tool. Chances are, you had a pretty measly Pinterest following when you first started pinning, meaning most of your earlier pins probably have few to no repins. This tool helps you to revive those pins by looping them to the top of the board.
Not only does it bring new light to old pins, but it’s the perfect tool for those weeks when you simply didn’t have time to add any new pins. It gives the illusion that you’re pinning new content when you’re really just recycling the content you’ve already pinned!
