I’m sure I say this every month, but September went so fast! I can’t quite believe I’m already here sharing my goals for October! I’m a bit depressed about October being here because it means winter and cold weather are coming (which in Wisconsin can be brutal.) I’m not surprised September flew by because we had a lot going on. We started the month with friends visiting. Weekend #2 was a cookout with my entire extended family at our house. The following weekend was a craft fair, followed by a fancy dinner out to celebrate my birthday. And the last weekend of the month was a family wedding for Dave’s side up in Michigan. So it was a busy one.
I’m definitely looking forward to things being a little lighter in October and having some time to actually relax! I’m also hoping that I’ll be able to use that extra free time to get a few more things crossed off my to-do list, so let’s get down to my goals for October!

First, let’s start with a quick recap of my goals for September and see how I did!
Blog and Biz | Share a House Tour
Womp. Once again, no house tour. I swear I’m going to get to it! But I keep wanting to wait until I have everything painted and set up just so, so I’m going to put this on the back burner and stop making myself feel bad about it.
Blog and Biz | Announce a Special Project
YES! Just a few weeks ago I published this blog post where I announced that I’m writing an eBook! You can get more details in the blog post, but basically, I’m writing an eBook and it launches in two weeks. Stay tuned!
Blog and Biz | Instagram
I’m going to call this a win! I just wanted to work on my Instagram in general, but I also met my goal of increasing my followers by 250 and almost posting three times per week. This is going to be a never-ending effort, but I feel like September was a good launchpad for constant improvement, rather than the plateau I felt stuck in before.
Personal | Complete One House Project
The house got sorely neglected this month and outside of our normal cleaning, didn’t manage to get any extra projects done. I’m hoping we can change that in October!
Personal | Bring Home a New Family Member
One pet just wasn’t enough, so in September Dave and I brought home a kitten! His name is Obi-Wan Kenobi (our dog’s name is Princess Leia, so you can probably notice the theme), and we’re loving having him around! He and Leia have quickly become best friends and are playing together constantly. He also loves shoelaces and mischievously jumping onto the table to eat my dinner, thinking I won’t notice. You can see pictures of him here and here!
Goals for October
Now that we’ve recapped my goals from September, let’s talk about my goals for October!
Blog and Biz | Successfully Launch eBook
You guys, I’m having major anxiety about this one. I’ve been working on this book for months, and I want everything to go well! I’d love if you’d send some good vibes my way (and check out the eBook when it goes on sale in two weeks!)
Blog and Biz | Plan the Rest of 2016 Content
With the holidays coming up, I know I’m going to be short on free time. Because of that, I want to get all of my blog content for the remainder of the year planned, at the very least. I would love to start getting some of it written as well, but I’ll settle for planning the rest of it this month.
Personal | Complete One House Project
I’m shaking my head at myself just for putting this one down again, but I’m determined! We’ve got quite a few things we want to get done on our house, and I’d like to make a dent before winter. At the very least, I want to get the remainder of the rooms painted in 2016, so we’ll see what gets done this month!
Personal | Get Back Into Reading
I’ve always loved reading. As a kid, I would read like crazy, and then fell out of it in college when I had to read constantly for classes. Since college, I’ve read on and on. It doesn’t help that I hate to spend money on books. But Dave bought me a Kindle Paperwhite for my birthday a few weeks ago (because he’s amazing), and now I can rent books without having to hike it all the way to the library. So, needless to say, I’m pumped! Where I used to go weeks (or months) without reading, I’m challenging myself to read every day.
