I know I say this about every season, but I honestly can’t believe fall is already here tomorrow! This summer went so darn fast. We were so busy with camping, visiting family, etc. Even with being unemployed for part of summer, the time still flew by. I have mixed feelings about fall. I love the weather. I would love to have 65 degree weather all year long! Jeans and sweater is my favorite! I also love the fall colors and the changing of the leaves, I love the fall drinks (hello Pumpkin Spice Latte!), and the fall holidays. What I don’t love about fall is the knowledge that the 65 degree weather and changing leaves is short lived. Way too soon, we’ll be dealing with winter. In Wisconsin, winter means subzero temperatures, immense amounts of snow, icy roads and avoiding the outdoors for at least 4 months, 5 months on a bad year. I could live without all those things. But for at least the next month or two, I’m going to enjoy the fall weather while it’s here!
Here is a fall bucket list of seasonal things to do to make your autumn even better!
-Drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes. This one is obvious! The bigger challenge will be limiting how many pumpkin spice lattes I have so I don’t go overboard
-Dress up for Halloween. Dave and I haven’t decided on our Halloween plans for this year, but we’ve definitely discussed some costume ideas!
-Carve Pumpkins. We haven’t done this the last few years, so I’m making it a priority this fall!
-Bake New Fall/Thanksgiving Recipes. I’m eager to try some new baking this year! I haven’t done much baking in the past, but I have to put that shiny new Kitchen-Aid Mixer to use!
-Visit a Haunted House. We always talk about going to one, but never make it! Madison has some great ones, so we’ll try to make it.
-Update Your Fall/Winter Wardrobes. I’m definitely in the market for a new pair of cute boots!
-Try New Crock-Pot Soup and Stew Recipes. I love making recipes in the crockpot, especially during the cold weather. I can’t wait to try out some new soup and stew recipes!
-Stock Up on Fall Scented Candles from Bath and Body Works. The fall scents are my favorite, so I always make sure to stock up! I don’t limit myself to burning them just in the fall!
-Start Christmas Shopping Early! Technically, I already started. Let’s see if I can keep up the momentum!
-Cheer on Your Football Team. For Dave and I, that means the Packers!
-Have a Scary Movie Marathon. It’s not Halloween season without scary movies!
-DIY Some Fall Decor For Your Home. We don’t do a ton of decorating, since we know our apartment is a temporary living situation. But I would like to try a few DIY projects to brighten up the house and share on the blog!
