Fall is my favorite season, so it should come as no surprise that I love to get outdoors during fall as much as possible! Whether is physical activity or something super lazy like sitting around the campfire, I can’t get enough of the fall weather. Here are 6 ways to enjoy the outdoors during fall!
Work On Your Photography
Seriously, what better time to work on your photography outdoors than when the leaves are as gorgeous as they’re going to get all year? We have several trees in our yard, so I know I’m going to have a blast with this one this year (except for when it’s time to clean up the leaves.) Plus, if you have kids or pets, you’ll have the added bonus of catching them playing in the leaves!
Hiking is one of those activities that I really want to love, and I’m pretty sure I would love, but I haven’t given it a fair shot. Mostly because it’s been so gosh dang hot this summer, that I’m completely miserable every time we go! I’m excited for cooler temperatures so we can go hiking without heat stroke! Plus the fall colors are incentive enough to go!
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Visiting a pumpkin patch is a classic fall activity, so you know I had to include this one! Dave and I didn’t end up making it to one last year. But now that we’ve got a house to decorate and space to carve pumpkins? We’ll most certainly be hitting one up!
Have a Fire
Fires are one of my favorite outdoor activities! This summer has been hot in Wisconsin, definitely hotter than usual, so we honestly haven’t been in the mood for fires as often. Luckily, now that we’re entering fall, it’s pretty much always fire weather! Dave and I could sit around the fire for hours, just the two of us having a few drinks and talking. But we love to invite friends over as well. Luckily, thanks to the heat of the fire, this is an activity we plan to keep up well into winter as well!
Visit the Farmer’s Market
Madison, Wisconsin is famous for it’s Farmer’s Market. To be honest, though, I don’t go as often as I used to because it’s aways so stinking packed! Tons and tons of people come and the sidewalk is full of bodies, making it super difficult to walk. Which is part of why fall is the perfect time to go! By fall, some of the hype surrounding the weekly Farmer’s Market has died down, meaning there aren’t as many people out. Plus, it’s so fun to see the food varieties at the beginning of the season versus the end.
Throw One Last Outside Party
Ever since Dave and I bought our first home in June, we’ve been obsessed with spending time out on our deck and entertaining anyone we can convince to come over. When people see the house for the first time, I plan out the house tour so the deck and yard are the last things they see, as the grand finale (which Dave totally makes fun of me for.) I’m that serious about it. Since the weather is getting cooler and soon we won’t be able to take advantage of this deck quite as much (hello Wisconsin winters), it seems that one last party is in order!
When it comes to an outdoor gathering in the fall, hot drinks are the way to go! One of my favorites for fall is Tazo® Tea. Tazo Teas are made with some of the finest quality tea leaves, spices and botanicals. The first time I tried Tazo Tea, it was because their packaging immediately caught my eye. I was on the hunt for tea (Tazo Teas can be purchased at your local grocery store) and their bright, upbeat branding definitely won me over.
While the branding may have roped me in the first time, it is definitely the taste that kept me buying Tazo again and again. They have blends for literally every taste, so grab a variety for your next fall outdoor party! My favorites? The Zen™, Awake™ English Breakfast, and Passion®.
What’s your favorite blend of Tazo® Tea?
